In 2015, Alim’s band “OutCry” released their debut EP launch at Esplanade Recital studio. In 2016, they were asked to perform at MediaCorp in a program called Singapura LIVE 2.0. Working as a session musician since mid 2017, Alim has since been playing in bars and pubs around Singapore. As part of his session work, Alim has recorded for local Malay artist Sarah Aqilah for her single “Cincin” as well as Ismail Gani for his single “Lafaz Cinta”. Alim has worked as a session musician with other local acts like “Bendahara”, “Catalogue V”,”Iana”, “MMLD”, Elsa Mickayla”, “Jamiel Said” and many more. He was featured in Singapore’s own local guitar brand “Emiya”’s official song and music video alongside other local musicians like Addy Cradle and Paul Danial.
His approach in performing is based on holding down the groove and rhythm of the songs he plays and working together with the drummer to build a solid foundation for the song. He communicates his knowledge and feelings through the notes he plays while giving out energetic performances on stage. His approach to teaching is building a fun and fruitful learning process by incorporating finger exercises into songs. Alim focuses on building a good fundamental technique and encourages melodic bass development in his lessons. He believes in building a good basic foundation with his students to help them excel in more advanced technical and musical playing. After graduating from LASALLE, Alim intends to be pursue his musical career as a session musician and music teacher. Alim also plans to start a news editorial website in the future to build a bigger music community among musicians and their audiences here in Singapore.
